The Taycan’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Gravity doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Taycan helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Gravity doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Taycan has standard Porsche Connect, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Gravity doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Taycan and the Gravity have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Taycan’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Gravity’s (12 vs. 10 years).

There are almost 5 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Lucid Motors dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Taycan’s warranty.

The Taycan Turbo GT’s electric motors produces 5 lbs.-ft. more torque (914 vs. 909) than the Gravity Dream Edition’s optional electric motors.

The Taycan offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Gravity doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Taycan stops much shorter than the Gravity:

The Taycan’s optional 265/35R21 front and 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Gravity’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The Taycan AWD offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Gravity doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Taycan offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lucid Motors doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Gravity.

The Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo handles at 1.02 G’s, while the Gravity Dream Edition pulls only .90 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.7 seconds quicker than the Gravity Touring (23.2 seconds @ .93 average G’s vs. 24.9 seconds @ .82 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Taycan Turbo S/GT’s turning circle is 2 feet tighter than the Gravity w/Rear Steering’s (36.4 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Porsche Taycan may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 800 to 1350 pounds less than the Lucid Motors Gravity.

The Taycan is 10.9 inches shorter in height than the Gravity, making the Taycan much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The front grille of the Taycan uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Gravity doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

As tested by Car and Driver while under full throttle, the interior of the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo is quieter than the Gravity Dream Edition (69 vs. 71 dB).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Taycan’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Gravity doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Taycan has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Gravity doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Gravity, the Taycan offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position (with optional power wheel adjuster), outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Taycan has a standard rear wiper. The Gravity doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Taycan’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Gravity’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

When the Taycan is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Gravity’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Taycan’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Gravity has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Taycan has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Gravity.

The Porsche Taycan comes in sedan and station wagon bodystyles; the Lucid Motors Gravity isn’t available as a sedan.

The Taycan is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Gravity doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
