Suspension and Handling

The Macan Turbo Electric handles at .98 G’s, while the Polestar 3 Performance Package pulls only .92 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Macan Turbo Electric executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.1 seconds quicker than the Polestar 3 Single Motor (23.9 seconds @ .9 average G’s vs. 26 seconds @ .74 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Macan Electric Turbo/GTS has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Polestar 3 (8.8 vs. 8.3 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is .6 inch higher than on the Polestar 3 (8.9 vs. 8.3 inches).

Chassis

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 700 pounds less than the Polestar 3.

The Macan Electric is 4.6 inches shorter than the Polestar 3, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Porsche Macan Electric amounts to more than styling. The Macan Electric has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .25 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Polestar 3 (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Macan Electric get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the Macan Electric uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Cargo Capacity

The Macan Electric has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Polestar 3 with its rear seat up (22.1 vs. 17.1 cubic feet). The Macan Electric has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Polestar 3 with its rear seat folded (50.6 vs. 50 cubic feet).

Towing

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Polestar 3’s (4409 vs. 0 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Polestar 3 is only 3500 pounds. The Macan Electric offers up to a 5512 lbs. towing capacity.

Ergonomics

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Macan Electric’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Polestar 3’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

The Macan Electric’s optional Self Steering ParkAssist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Polestar 3’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

Recommendations

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its January 2026 issue and they ranked the Porsche Macan 4 Electric higher than the Polestar 3 Single Motor.
