Safety

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Macan Electric have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Lotus Eletre doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the Macan Electric and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The Macan Electric comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Eletre’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The Macan Electric comes with free roadside assistance for 4 years 50,000 miles. Porsche will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

The Macan Electric’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the Eletre’s (12 vs. 8 years).

There are almost 5 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Macan Electric’s warranty.

Engine

The Macan Turbo Electric’s standard electric motors produces 107 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 726) than the Eletre’s electric motors.

Suspension and Handling

For greater off-road capability the Macan Electric Turbo/GTS has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Eletre (8.8 vs. 7.6 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is 1.3 inches higher than on the Eletre (8.9 vs. 7.6 inches).

Chassis

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 850 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.

The Macan Electric is 1 foot shorter than the Eletre, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Towing

Maximum trailer towing in the Lotus Eletre is limited to 4960 pounds. The Macan Electric offers up to a 5512 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Stability Management on the Macan Electric uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Eletre doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Ergonomics

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the Eletre.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Macan Electric offers an optional rear wiper. The Eletre doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Macan Electric’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Eletre has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Macan Electric is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Eletre, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Macan Electric offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Eletre.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Macan Electric equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Eletre, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Porsche Macan Electric empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Eletre doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

Model Availability

The Macan Electric is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Eletre doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Recommendations

The Porsche Macan Electric outsold the Lotus Eletre by almost 543 to one during 2025.
