For better traction and acceleration, the Macan Electric has larger standard rear tires than the Q8 e-tron (285/45R20 vs. 255/50R20). The Macan Electric’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Q8 e-tron (295/40R21 vs. 265/45R21).

The Macan Electric’s standard 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Q8 e-tron’s standard 50 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 255/40R22 front and 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile than the Q8 e-tron’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Macan Electric offers optional 22-inch wheels. The Q8 e-tron’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The Macan Turbo Electric executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.7 seconds quicker than the Q8 e-tron (23.9 seconds @ .9 average G’s vs. 26.6 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Macan Electric Turbo/GTS has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Q8 e-tron (8.8 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is .8 inch higher than on the Q8 e-tron (8.9 vs. 8.1 inches).

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 700 to 800 pounds less than the Audi Q8 e-tron.

The Macan Electric is 4.7 inches shorter than the Q8 e-tron, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Porsche Macan Electric amounts to more than styling. The Macan Electric has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .25 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Q8 e-tron (.29 to .32) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Macan Electric get better fuel mileage.

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Q8 e-tron’s (4409 vs. 0 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Audi Q8 e-tron is only 4000 pounds. The Macan Electric offers up to a 5512 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Stability Management on the Macan Electric uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than Audi. J.D. Power ranks Porsche first in service department satisfaction. With a 42% lower rating, Audi is ranked 18th.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Macan Electric has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Macan Electric also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Porsche Macan Electric has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Q8 e-tron.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Macan Electric is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Q8 e-tron doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

The Porsche Macan Electric outsold the Audi Q8 e-tron by over 31 to one during 2025.
