For better traction and acceleration, the Macan Electric has larger standard rear tires than the Lyriq (285/45R20 vs. 265/50R20). The Macan Electric’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Lyriq (295/40R21 vs. 275/40R22).

The Macan Electric’s standard 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Lyriq’s standard 50 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Lyriq’s optional 40 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Lyriq, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Macan Electric has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Macan Electric’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The Macan Turbo Electric handles at .98 G’s, while the Lyriq pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Macan Turbo Electric executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.5 seconds quicker than the Lyriq Luxury AWD (23.9 seconds @ .9 average G’s vs. 26.4 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Macan Electric Turbo/GTS has a 2.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Lyriq-V (8.8 vs. 6.2 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Macan Electric’s minimum ground clearance is 1.9 inches higher than on the Lyriq (8.9 vs. 7 inches).

Chassis

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 pounds less than the Cadillac Lyriq.

The Macan Electric is 8.4 inches shorter than the Lyriq, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Macan Electric. The Lyriq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Towing

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Lyriq’s (4409 vs. 0 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Cadillac Lyriq AWD is only 3500 pounds. The Macan Electric offers up to a 5512 lbs. towing capacity.

Ergonomics

The Macan Electric offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Lyriq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Macan Electric offers an optional rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Lyriq’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Macan Electric’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Lyriq doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.
