The Macan Electric’s standard 235/55R20 front and 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the iX xDrive45/60’s standard 60 series tires.

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the iX, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The design of the Porsche Macan Electric amounts to more than styling. The Macan Electric has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .25 Cd. That is lower than the iX (.25 to .26) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Macan Electric get better fuel mileage.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Macan Electric. The iX doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the iX’s (4409 vs. 3500 pounds).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the iX, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The iX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The iX doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The iX doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Macan Electric is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The iX doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its January 2026 issue and they ranked the Porsche Macan 4 Electric higher than the BMW iX xDrive45.
