Safety

The 911’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the 911 and the Continental GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, night vision systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The 911 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Continental GT’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 9 years longer than the Continental GT’s (12 vs. 3 years).

There are over 4 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Bentley dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 911’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 second among premium sporty cars in their 2024 Initial Quality Study. The Continental GT isn’t in the top three in its category.

Engine

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

Fuel Economy and Range

The 911’s optional fuel tank has 1.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the Continental GT (22.1 vs. 21 gallons).

The 911 stops much shorter than the Continental GT:

Tires and Wheels

The 911 GT3 RS’ optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Continental GT’s optional 35 series front tires.

Suspension and Handling

The 911 GT3 RS handles at 1.18 G’s, while the Continental GT pulls only .97 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 GT3 RS executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.2 seconds quicker than the Continental GT (21.9 seconds @ .97 average G’s vs. 24.1 seconds @ .82 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the Continental GT’s (34.1 feet vs. 37.1 feet). The 911’s turning circle is .4 feet tighter than the Continental GT’s (36.7 feet vs. 37.1 feet).

Chassis

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1950 to 2350 pounds less than the Bentley Continental GT.

The 911 Turbo/Turbo S is 1 foot, 2.2 inches shorter than the Continental GT, making the 911 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Continental GT doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The 911 Coupe has .3 inches more front headroom and .2 inches more front legroom than the Continental GT.

Cargo Capacity

The 911’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Continental GT doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

Ergonomics

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 911 (except Cabriolet/GT3) offers an optional rear wiper. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Porsche 911 has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Bentley charges extra for Homelink® on the Continental GT.

Model Availability

The 911 is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
